Spread Factor added - Forecast Run Rate

This enhancement enables the user to select the predictive spread factor to execute run-rate calculations. The extrapolation technique allows you to extend a trend into the future. Run rate functionality applies only to Forecast Fiscal Sets. The “Run Rate” and “Compound” switches have been added to the Main > Spread Factor screen for a Forecast fiscal set.

A Run Rate Spread factor can only be selected for Standard budget type accounts in a Forecast Fiscal Set

A recalculation has been added to recalculate the Run Rate values.

Run Rate Parameters Import added

Run Rate Parameters import has been added under Imports > Main > Spread Factor > Run Rate Parameters.

Run Rate Parameters Export added

Run Rate Parameters export has been added under Exports > Main > Spread Factor > Run Rate Parameters

Cash Flow - Multiple Bank Accounts

Enhancement has been added for using multiple bank accounts in the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow configuration. To accommodate this requirement a ‘Linked Balance Sheet Cash Account’ dropdown box has been added to a Posting Cost Centre with a switch ‘Balance Sheet Cost Centre’ ticked. A Fixed budget type posting balance sheet account can be selected here.

“Cash Account” option has been removed from Financial > Cash Flow > Fiscal Set Balance sheet / Cash flow configuration > Account Definition tab because it can be linked now per Cost centre attribute and Cash Flow rule – see Balance sheet and Cash Flow Rules tab.

·         The ‘Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Rules’ will be processed, and the resulting effect on the Cash Account will be stored in the ‘Cash Account’ specified for each ‘Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Rule’.

·         After this is done, if there is still a difference in a Balance Sheet Cost Centre between total Assets and total Liabilities, this calculated difference will be stored in the ‘Linked Balance Sheet Cash Account’ of the relevant Balance Sheet Cost Centre, in order to ensure balance.

Cross Function Access - Activity

Activity budget type accounts are now also available for cross function account selection:

Financial Budgeting

Forecast run rate

Run rate functionality applies only to Forecast fiscal sets and Standard budget type accounts.

This enhancement enables the user to select the predictive spread factor to execute the run-rate calculations. The extrapolation technique allows to extend the trend into the future periods.

Select the “Run Rate” spread factor and right-click on the open periods to select the Number of Months option required to predict future values. The actual months, that are used in calculations, will be highlighted in pink.

The Straight or Compound Run Rates can be set up in Administrator module.
The user can amend the escalation factor on calculations via the “Run Rate % (+-)” row.
For the Straight method run rate - selecting 2 months will calculate the average of the 2 months’ actuals and apply it to the rest of the open periods ((-11 000 + (-12 000))/2 = -11 500).

Adding a 5% escalation for February – will apply such escalation to the remaining months (-11 500 * 1.05 = -12 075):

For the Compound run rate the calculation will be (-12 000 + -11 000) / (-11 000 + -10 000) * -12 000 = -13 142.93

(Average of the last 2 months over the average of the first 2 months multiplied by the value of the most recent month):

The Run Rate parameters can also be exported and imported on Client using the Run Rate option:

Cross Function Access – Activity

Selecting the Cross Function dropdown will provide filtered access to all cost centre and account combinations which have been linked to the role security. This functionality was only available for Standard, Fixed, Itemised and Capex budget type accounts. Now it has been added for Activity budget type accounts as well.

Locked Fiscal set

If the fiscal set is Locked – the admin users can no longer amend or import values on Client as they could previously. The Import button will be hidden on all Budget types. This requirement has been applied to all modules. The client user access remained unchanged – the client users cannot amend or import values on Client.
Only view and export functions are available on Locked fiscal sets on Client.
