Version 5.4.1 - New Features & Enhancements

ADMINISTRATOR MODULE

Top-Down budgeting functionality added

“Enable Top-Down Budgeting” switch was added to the Financial Modelling Fiscal set page.
Selecting the switch – “Number of Future years” will default to zero as future years’ functionality is not applicable to Top-Down budgeting.

Selecting Save – the Top-Down Budgeting tab will become enabled.
The Fiscal set / Actual year on the “Top down budgeting” tab defines how to allocate the values from the Source fiscal set summary level down to the posting levels.

Security User Switch O

A new switch “O - Allow posting level capture in Top-Down Budgeting” -  has been added to allow the overriding top down values at a posting level, which then recalculates the other posting levels and keeps the edited posting value fixed.

Predictive Forecast

Predictive Forecast assumptions make use of machine learning to predict future values.
To set up a Predictive Forecast, select Assumption type “Predictive Forecast” under Financial Modeling > Assumption.

Selecting Edit on Financial Modeling > Assumption Set – Predictive Forecast Assumption type

The user can set up a Number of History Periods, Training window (allows the user to adjust how patterns or seasonal changes are perceived by the model) and Confidence Percentage.
The default number of history periods for an assumption set is All Available, and this can be set to as many actuals are available for a specific Cost Centre account.
With these actuals, a model is created and patterns are identified based on the selected training window, these patterns are then used to predict future values.

Under Account Attributes Predictive Forecast Assumptions can only be selected as Assumption 1. All other assumptions for such an account will be disabled.

Asset Reporting

Asset Supporting Documents - URL

Supporting documents functionality now allows linking a URL to an Asset selecting the URL
switch.

Security - User - Asset Cost Centre Filter

The same switch has been added under Posting Asset Cost Centre tab as well.

CLIENT MODULE

Financial Budgeting

Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Rules - Recalculate

The Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Rules button  will now display if Cash Flow configuration was set up in Admin and the selected Cost Centre is a Balance sheet Cost Centre - even if the cash flow rules were not set up for Inventories, Trade Creditors or Debtors.
So the Recalculate button can still be available for the users.

Financial Modelling module

Top-Down budgeting functionality added

Top-down budgeting is a budgeting method that allows senior management to develop a high-level budget for the company. Once the top-level numbers are created, amounts are pushed down to individual Cost Centres and accounts.

If a Financial Modelling fiscal set was created as a Top-Down Budgeting by an administrator – the assumptions columns will not display for such a fiscal set. Only one scenario is applicable for Top Down Budgeting.

Three new columns were added – “Variance”, “%” and “Var” to show the change between the Source Fiscal Set and Top Down Budget values.

Capturing a Summary level – the Child level values will be calculated based on historical Fiscal Set or Actual % spreads, as selected in Admin.

If the access is granted, the user can also be allowed the Posting level capture. Amended posting value will remain fixed while remaining posting level values will be automatically adjusted.

New columns can be hidden selecting the Choose Columns button:
