Administrator Module

IDU Config Encryption Using the Installer

Full and Light installers can now be used to encrypt and decrypt idu.config files.

Going to Maintenance Tasks > IDU Config Maintenance > Encrypt/Decrypt IDU Config:

 

In addition to the default encryption type, an encryption mechanism has also been introduced that enables idu.config files to be password protected.

 


Custom Theme Formatting

Essential Expression Theme has been added to IDU themes.

 

Login with “Essential Expression” theme and going to Utilities > System Customisation > Theme Configuration tab – selecting the colour rectangle - the admin user can select the theme colours for different parts of the screen to match your company’s branding:

The created theme can be linked to all users under Theme Access tab.


Dashboard – User Favourites

Users can now add a User Favourite widget where shortcuts can be created for the most used pages in admin or client.

On Dashboard select   +  Add Dashboard Widget button and select “User Favourites” option:



Then going to an admin page that you want to create a shortcut for – select the User Favourite button on top right of the screen to add the shortcut to the screen widget.

Multi Module Licenses

Companies can now purchase a combination of Financial Enterprise, Standard and Light licenses.

If a company has a combination of licenses, the admin user access will be based on the highest company module assigned.


Financial Budgeting and Reporting

Layout Profile – Column Grouping

Layout profile – column grouping has been added to Financial Budgeting and Reporting modules.

Adding or editing a layout profile – a new Column Group tab will be displayed after the details tab:



Fixed and Scroll groups will be assigned automatically upon upgrade – a ‘Fixed Group’ for Code and Description (or any column with a ‘Freeze’ switch selected) and a ‘Scroll Group’ for the rest of the columns.

Under Columns > Main tab Column Group is now displayed against each layout profile column: 


Admin user can add, edit, re-order or delete the Column Groups – including system generated Fixed and Scroll Groups:


Then assign the Column Groups to layout profile columns on edit, Bulk Add or Dimension.

Layout Profile – Drag and Drop controls

Drag and drop controls has been added to layout profile Column Group and Columns tabs:


 Select the    and drag the column or column group to the position it should be displayed on layout profile:


  

Financial Budgeting

Integrated Fiscal Set - Save and Edit

If a fiscal set is a part of an Integrated fiscal set setup, then adding, editing and deleting Account Attributes and Cost Centre Attributes in admin module can now be done for all fiscal sets that are part of that Integrated fiscal set at once.

If the selected fiscal set is a part of an Integrated Fiscal Set setup, selecting ‘Add New’ or ‘Edit’ against any account or cost centre attributes, then the following new buttons will be displayed in the button bar.

 


   

Selecting the ‘Save/&Exit Integrated’ buttons will save the selected Account Attribute in all Integrated fiscal sets:

  • The selected Account Attribute will be added to all fiscal sets in the Integrated Fiscal Set setup;
  • If an account attribute is edited then all editable settings will be synchronized from the selected fiscal set into all other fiscal sets in the Integrated Fiscal Set setup, such as account description, account budget type, etc.

 Also, on Cost Centre - Account allocation screen – selecting ‘Save/&Exit Integrated’ buttons will create or synchronise cost centre – account combinations in all fiscal sets in the Integrated Fiscal Set setup:

 


‘Delete Integrated’ checkbox has been added to the Bulk Delete popup on Account and Cost centre attributes listing screens.

Selecting ‘Delete’ when the ‘Delete Integrated’ checkbox is ticked, will delete the selected Account/Cost Centre Attributes from all Integrated fiscal sets:

  


Activity Formatting – White Background Colour

White background colour has been added for Activity Formatting:

 


 Security - User Module Switch AD

A new security user preference switch AD – “Disable Activity Import” has been added to the “Activity” section under Financial Budgeting Enterprise module.

This switch will hide the new   import button in Client for Financial Budgeting Activity View screens.


   

Project Budgeting - Capex Integration - Capex LOM (Life of Mine) Depreciation Type

The following additions have been made to accommodate the mining clients:

  • A new setting to indicate that each period equals to 1 year or 12 months in an Integrated Fiscal set setup under Main > Fiscal set:

 


  •  A new Depreciation method called Straight Line (LOM) under Financial > Capex > Class:

‘LOM’ stands for ‘Life of Mine’, a term commonly used by mining companies to describe the total remaining number of months (or years) that a mine will continue to operate, before closing down.

All asset values budgeted in this type of Asset Class, needs to be fully depreciated by the end of the mine’s life, regardless of when the asset value is budgeted – IDU calculations will cater for this.


 

For importing this Capex method – use import code L – ‘Straight Line (LOM)’

  • The ability to start depreciating Project values in the same period in which the project values are budgeted.

 

Client Module

Dashboard – User Favourites

Admin user can now add a User Favourite widget in admin, then client users will be able to add shortcuts for the most used pages in client.

Going to a client view that you want to create a shortcut for – select the Star User Favourite button on top right of the screen to add the shortcut to the screen widget.

Charts – Group and Rank

“Group” and “Rank” chart Data Display has been added to the Chart Parameters.

Group chart data

Users can now select groups of columns within the specified layout profile to display as a unique data series group on the chart data so that they can compare period data for different fiscal sets or data types on the same chart axis.

Selecting “Group” data display, dropdown selections for Layout Profile Column Groups and Chart Types for each group become available:

 



Rank chart data

Users can now view a widget containing a report of the top no of cost centres or accounts in a cost centre based on the selected layout profile columns and returning a variable amount of rows, so that they can automatically report on the top or lowest performing cost centres or accounts for a particular selection.

Selecting “Rank” data display, dropdown selections for Rank Type, Rank Value and Rank Column become available:

 


 

Financial Budgeting and Reporting

Layout Profile – Column Grouping

Layout profile – column groups have been added to Financial Budgeting and Reporting modules.

Selecting  +  or  -  the users can expand or collapse different column groups:

 


 

Financial Budgeting

Activity - Client Export and Import

Activity Export and Import have been added to Financial Budgeting Activity view screens.

Now the users can export and, if access is granted (user switch AD unticked), re-import the following inputs:

  • a ‘Value’ type input with the ‘Read-Only’ switch unticked or
  • a ‘Formula’ type input containing an ‘OpenBalance’ function.

Selecting  the Export button – the export file is generated with Value and OpenBalance inputs:

 


 Selecting the Import button – the file can be re-imported after amendment:

 


Activity Formatting – White Background Colour

White background colour has been added for Activity Formatting:


 

Excel Reports - 3rd Dimension

Excel Reports now filter on Third Dimension filter selection – if setup and selected.

@ThirdDimention tab has been added to the report to show third dimension selections.

  As we are sure you are already aware, as of July 9, 2024, Microsoft will officially end support for MS SQL 2014   Why must we upgrade to a later version of MS SQL? End of support means regular security updates will no longer be provided. With cyberattacks becoming more sophisticated and frequent, running applications and data on unsupported versions can create significant security and compliance risks. What does this mean in terms of our investment in IDU? In the future, customers running SQL 2014 or earlier may not have access to new releases of IDU, including new features and functionality released in the system. We would therefore highly recommend that customers upgrade to the most current versions for better performance, efficiency, and regular security updates.
