Action required: SQL Server 2016 is no longer supported

 


Dear Customer,

Microsoft ended extended support for SQL Server 2016 on 15 July 2026. While your system may continue to operate, remaining on an unsupported database platform may increase security, compliance and operational risks. 

SQL Server 2016 is no longer included in IDU’s current system requirements. IDU now requires a minimum of SQL Server 2017 Customers using SQL 2016 or earlier will no longer be compatible with new releases, features, or improvements.

Customers running SQL Server 2016 or earlier should review their environment and plan an upgrade to a supported version. We recommend considering SQL Server 2019 or later, based on your organisation’s IT strategy and licensing requirements.

Alternatively, you may consider moving to IDU Cloud, reducing the internal effort required to manage infrastructure and application updates.

Please contact your IDU consultant to review your current setup and discuss the most appropriate next step.

Administrator Module IDU Config Encryption Using the Installer Full and Light installers can now be used to encrypt and decrypt idu.config files.
